For Father’s Day my son wrote me a priceless letter. I wanted to share it with all the great fathers who sometimes go underappreciated and swept under the rug. It takes a lot to be a strong influence in the evolution of your child. I want to salute all the fathers and father figures who go above and beyond to give their best. Although my son articulated this letter in such a profound manner to me, I feel it is a beautiful thing to touch the hearts of all the men who make a tremendous effort every day to give
their children the best of what they have with what they know. Yes it does matter in this crazy world. A father’s touch is indispensable.

Hey Dad,

I just wanted to start out by saying how lucky I am to have you as my father. You are the very best father a son could ask for. This last month we’ve been together has helped me better understand you and your experiences. I’m so glad and proud of you for going outside of your comfort zone to do something spectacular as to become a poet. It takes guts to do what you do. Up to this point in my life you have gone out of your way to help guide me to become the person I am today. You are my role model because you are different and you know it. You have the balls to expose your innerself to help bring joy to the lives of others. You are changing the world for the better with words, one poem at a time. You have taught me very important lessons in my life up till now and they will stay with me forever. You’ve shown me the power, love, respect, friendship, generosity and many more have and it has made me a better person because of that. You’re an innovative, kind and humorous human being who I’m proud to call dad. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be asking you for an autograph. Happy Father’s Day to the most interesting man in the world.

Keep Being You!
