From My Garden

FROM MY GARDEN
by Atul Ranchod

From my garden
So many sweet nectarines.

Pruning
Clearing

So the sun
Can do its bidding.

Shiny red flesh
Holding a reservoir
Of nectar

Imperceptible at first,
But then it bursts

Abundance so elegant
Summer sun
Filling

Rainbow of colors
To gorge

From mangoes,
To watermelon

Here in this season
Without a reason,

The sun
In all its majesty

Alive in the fruits.
What a priviledge!

To water the roots
From inception

To delicious fulfillment,
A cycle so benevolent.

I consume the sun
At last with the one

The story has just begun…
