Vulnerability

Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity.
If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.

VULNERABILITY
by Atul Ranchod

Onslaught of violence,
Meanness and defences,
Ruthlessness and vengeance!
A world gone wild.

Egotistical!
Maniacal!
Vindictive!

No match for the powers
Vulnerability offers.

Presence in being,
Past the masks bleeding.

To reach the center
From where the nightingale
Is singing.

The gauntlet
From beginning to ending.

Maintaining a softness
In a world hell bent on hardening.

The visiting and being infused
From the heart’s center,

Refusing to give up
The chime of the notes
That matter.

Therein lies our dignity.
To hold fragile vulnerabilty
With impeccable care.
The highest responsibilty
To kindle its flame. If we dare.

Deep seeded pains
Given permission
To rise and float away.

An entire universe
In vulnerability
Simply waiting for you today.

How pliable,
Simple,
Powerful,
Vulnerable!

One single breath.
Taking you to the threshold,

Upon vulnerability’s throne
To come home.
From wherever the voyage
Has taken you to,

To at last rest
And feel blessed.
It has fought countless battles.
Here it lies at your fingertips,

To rediscover
The fragile precarious nature
From which the human
Can at last reside in being.

What sweet melody.
To even want to hear
Such a symphony.

I sing to thee
Vulnerability,

What a divine emissary,
The lifeline to feel
Immortality.
